OK, my BP is high as you have read in my posts. I've been doing well for the past few months on my Lisinopril. I caught a cold and now have almost gotten rid of it. Time to fess up. The past 2 weekends, my Husband has had his xmas parties. At both, I drank vodka and cranberry drinks (about 3 that night). And this last weekend, I drank 5 Sex on the Beaches!!! If this is what's effecting my BP how long before this stuff gets out of my system???
I can't say that I'm an expert on this, but I've done it enough in my time (I'm 34) to know. When I drink 5-6 drinks, the next day I have a lot more anxiety & my pulse rate is usually 10-12 points higher. It can last for a couple of days for me. Don't stress about it. We all drink a little too much at times (at least most of us).
I stress when I lose 2 pounds. I'm 148, usually 150. It feels much better not worrying about fluctuations. It's part of being human. Probably lost 2 pounds, because I didn't eat much of anything on Saturday & yesterday I didn't have that much either. I'm not going to stress.
Enjoy the holidays & don't worry about it. On Sunday I had 3 beers & my 1st reading on Monday was like 130/78. Today my 1st reading was 120/71 & my average after 3 readings was 115/68. It passes.
Sheesh 5-6 drinks?? I'd be out of sorts with that many. I have a cocktail evey night but 3 on weekends and parties that is my limit. I know I have been told I can't hang with the big boys. I think some people it does raise their BP. With my meds they only seem to go up when I am ******..Lisa
