I just looked at the nutrition info for Whitey's. It's not as bad as I would have expected. I'll have to eat there more often. A single White Castle without cheese is 135 mg, a double is 200mg. The cheese only adds 20 calories, but 115 mg of sodium. So, cheeseburgers need to be avoided. The Fries are only 15 mg. If you keep the portion sizes reasonable, this doesn't look too bad.
Let's see... 2 doubles and an order of fries = 595 calories and 415 mg sodium. Not too bad. Fat is a little high. But, this would be a convenient quick meal that wouldn't screw with a low sodium diet.
Now, eating a whole 30 pack of single's would be 4200 calories w/ 4050 mg sodium. Or, even worse, 30 pack of cheeseburgers... 4800 calories w/ 7500 mg of sodium.
Ate 9 in 150 miles, 20 total so far since last night
They are like lays chips, you cant stop with one
So thats 5000 mg plus the 600 mg for the sandwich & soda i got from the truck stop vending machine for lunch yesterday, so i've had at least 5600 mg of sodium in the last 24 hours
I guess I will have to freeze the last 10 for a while
All this eating hotel food & sitting on my rear all day & not working out I gained 6 lb in 4 days
They are called sliders for more reasons than one. I'm surprised you didn't suffer the consequences in more ways than just the sodium and calories. ;-)
Well, we did have to open the windows of the truck a few times for fresh air
But it wasnt as bad as it was when I was young & stupid & we would get a case of little kings to go along with the sliders - the results of that combo should be classified as a deadly weapon
I got slightly different numbers:
For one WC cheeseburger:
Calories 200 Calories from Fat 99
Total Fat 11g
Cholesterol 0mg
Sodium 361mg
Just curious... Where did you get those numbers? I got mine directly from the White Castle website which lists the following for a cheeseburger:
Calories 160
Calories from fat 90
Total fat 9 g
Cholesterol 15 mg
Sodium 250 mg
In either case, 30 of them is obviously excessive.
It's almost like your numbers include 2 slices of cheese. Wait, isn't there half a slice of cheese on a WC cheeseburger? Perhaps there used be a full slice? The cheese adds 2g fat + 115 mg sodium. And, that would pretty much explain the difference.
