How reliable is ReliOn monitors?

I'm not going to say I don't like what I see because my readings on the ReliOn HEM-780REL have been wonderful!!! I bought it last week because Samsung is taking forever (2 months) to send back my broken monitor. After a week with constant anxiety because my bp was 158/98 at the doctor's office (good ol' white coat hypertension), I decided to buy a new monitor. The cuff is formed so it's very easy to put on one-handed and my readings have been like 118/78 and 122/82 and one time it was 115/74 (a new all-time low for me and without meds!!) So, my question is does anyone have this monitor and what's the word on the street about ReliOn?

Michelle

Re: How reliable is ReliOn monitors?

I have that very same model. From what I can tell, it's an Omron 780 repacked under a ReliOn name for Walmart. I am very happy with mine. The speed of the readings is what I find most impressive.

Re: How reliable is ReliOn monitors?

Palamedes is right about the ReliOn. It's made by OMRON for Walmart.

The June 03 issue of Consumer Reports did an article on BP monitors, and highly recommend the automatic, self-inflatable- arm-cuff, digital read-out monitiors by:
OMRON, LIFESOURCE, LUMISCOPE or the RELiON AUTOMATIC...

Congratulations on such swell #s by the way!
