My BP will go from 160/80 to 110/60 in a matter of minutes. I have inflamation in my neck due to sinuses and when I take a ibuprofen the BP lowers. I am 61 and still have hot flashes. I take a 5mg diazapam dailey but notice when I forget or go two or three without taking the med. my BP elevates and Its always my systolic pressure. My daughter, a RN, says that I am obsessed with this. I have little confidence in medical doctors so tend to stay away from their drugs. I am 20 lbs overweight and do not exercise. Should I consider medications? This has been going on now for over a year.
That looks like a fairly common fluctuation. An average between those two numbers would be 135/70. Not too bad. The problem is that if you treat the 160/80, you also "treat" the 110/60. And, that could have some very undesirable effects. Maybe throw in a little exercise and keep an eye on it.
I agree,
The one thing BP is guaranteed to do is change.
If somebody asks me "What is your blood pressure?"
my answer invariable starts with a drawn out Ethel Mertz: "Welllll..."
