I'm taking benicar and I am a runner. Anyone have a problem getting their heart rate up to max with benicar

I do run. I do take Benicar. I always take the Benicar after I run never before (except for 1 time and my times were terrible). I do not notice any difference. I don't have a heart monitor, but my times are exactly the same. Even for the 5K I am the same.

Thanks Jay, Just trying to make sure the meds are not causing me to slow down. Might just be I'm getting older.

Zaldo,

Cozaar (another ARB) slows my heart rate considerably. On it, I am down AT LEAST 10-15 BPM.

my normal pulse is 70 - 80

while on benicar, it was 100 - 110, it seemed like there was an inverse relationship between my bp & my pulse, the higher my pulse the lower my bp

(of course benicar didnt control my bp very well, there were wide swings during the day)
