Info. on 24 hour blood pressure test

Hi all,
Just got back from the doctor's office. My pressures were 146/90, much better than the past couple of months. I do realize that is still high. My doctor is still trying to figure out if I suffer from white-coat or actual hbp. This has been going on for a couple of months now. My home readings are averaging 112/72, but in the doctors office they have been 150/100, 140/100, and 120/100. So, now she wants to do the 24 hour home monitor. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about this? And if being anxious about the whole thing when wearing the device is going to give inacurrate readings? I really get nervous with anything pertaining to the medical field. Any advice is welcomed. Thanks!

When I Did my 24 hr monitor I was anxious for the same reason. Mine turned out good (although I do have hypertension it's much worse at the docs) My doc explained that a person doesn't stay anxious contionusly. You relax sometimes without even being aware of it, especially duriing sleep.
