Gosh~I feel for you! The first bp med I took was a beta blocker and it made me crazy. When I weaned off,I had a wacky fast pulse(like you). The doctor gave me Ativan which worked wonders. When I weaned from Tenormin I could not be "still". It was awful~The Ativan helped me for sure. Now I'm taking Diovan(which is not working) to lower my bp. This time around the Ativan is helpling my "nerves" but not my bp. Maybe you could call your MD and ask for a med(like Ativan or Valium) that will calm you while you wean off. BEST OF LUCK!
