I got a new B/P wrist cuff given to me, it is great, not. I took my B/p with it a couple times and it was my normal readings. but got these two high ones.

169/173, retested immediately it was 130/74
122/130, retested immediatley and it was 130/70. my pulse rate also dropped 20 points

I do not have high b/p but do have white coat. This cuff is an off the wall name, but I have another wrist that is a name brand, i have taken that to the DR. several times to make sure it is working properly and the DR. said it is quite accurate.

Can your b/p drop that fast in a minuet? I thought if you retested that close your numbers would be higher. My husband does have high B/P so do not want to use this cuff if it is not working right.

What do you think about the readings, is this possible?

I have ZERO faith in wrist readings. Unless a person is *****, the bones in the wrist will prevent the proper even transmission of pressure to the veins. I've tried one a couple times and the readings were preposterous.

If you'd bought it, I'd say return it but your price was right!

My experience is better than Lenin's. I use a wrist monitor and really like it, and I've calibrated it against my doctor's office machine. I spent the bucks for a good one though.

I'd say there is something wrong with the one you were given. I'd throw it away if you can't trust its readings.

I have a ormron wrist for about four years, I take it along to the Dr. about once a year for comparison and my Dr. feels it is acurate. This new one only has a serial number on it, and a name of the distributor, no phone number or address of the co. A friend got two as a gift at a casino. Already threw it away.

So it is not possible for your b/p to change 100 points in two consective readings about a minuet apart?
