Thanks, Lenin. I guess I'll hhave to talk to my doctor about it. Why do doctors do that? He knows that I'm a married, sexually active man. Is there a med that is friendly towards sexually active men?
Is Diovan an Ace Inhibitor? I can't seem to find that info. My doctor just switched me from Atenolol. ve gone awaySo far, It's been okay. Sex with my wife is better and so is the masturbation!
Diovan is an ARB class drug. Many folks are put on these that can't handle the Ace cough.
• Diovan is in a class of drugs called angiotensin II receptor antagonists. Diovan prevents the constriction (narrowing) of blood vessels (veins and arteries).
• Diovan is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and heart failure.
• Diovan may also be used for purposes other than those listed in this medication guide.
ACE inhibitors are drugs whose generic names almost always end in ----pril! (as in enalapril, captopril!)
ARB's end in ---sartan (losartan, irbesartan and valsartan<Diovan>)
ARB's and ACEI's are SUPPOSED to not interfere with erectile difficulty...my jury is out on that topic. Problem with the ARB's (and the ACEI's to a degree) is that they are weak hypertension drugs often precscribed with diuretics and then BOOM...again erectile difficulty...though NOTHING is as bad as the beta-blockers like atenolol.
