High blood pressure in son/funny feeling
Hi all, I posted this in the children's section already but thought I should post here also. I took my son to the ER last week for a bad bump on the nose (which turned out to be fine). When they took his blood pressure it was 110/85 which seems high to me (and after doing research I found that it IS elevated for his age, which is 4 1/2). He had not been running around or acting hyper before they tested it so I don't think that played a factor in it being high. He is "chunky" for his age; 48 pounds and 42" tall; but not grossly overweight. He has moderate asthma and scoliosis also. He also has been saying for a week or 2 that his "body tickles" and points to his chest and limbs when he says this. It can be day, night, whenever, whether or not he has had his asthma meds (which lately is rare because it hasn't flared up much). I feel I should have it checked since heart disease and hypertension runs in both sides of his family; but I also do tend to overreact and I am being told I am. What should I do? Is that abnormal enough to have it checked and followed up on? I feel like a good look at his heart and lungs would be a great idea.
