My mom (72) is tiny - 4'7" and usually weighs 90 pounds - in the last month she's gained 15 pounds in fluid - her legs are twice the normal size - her BP is 200/100. The docs can't seem to get her on the right meds. She's on Clonidine HCL , Lisinopril, Furosemide, Atenolol, Potassium CL - that's a lot of meds not working - they want her to wait - isn't the diastolic of 100 very dangerous?

I would get her to another doctor for a 2nd opinion immediately. Her current med regime is obviously not working properly. I'm assuming she's been on her meds for at least month, since you stated she's put 15 lbs in fluid.

The blood pressure is high, other avenues such as congestive heart failure, etc. need to checked out by a cardiologist, skip the GP' s. Something is going on to cause the edema, and sustained high blood pressure.
Yep, sounds like something major going on here. The problem here isn't so much the BP. It's the fluid retention. 15 lbs in one month is a lot. This much fluid sounds like kidney failure.
200/100 and the docs tell to "wait & see"
