New Omron Monitor

Just purchased a Omron digital cuff and I noticed on it that it has an irregular heart beat symbol that lights up if your heart beat is irregular. Not to sound stupid, would this symbol come on if your blood pressure is high along with elevated pulse (like over 100) or would it come on for another reason. Just curious and a little nervous. Thanks.

Re: New Omron Monitor

It's more likely to trigger at a MISSED beat. Sometimes I can feel a missed beat and my BP tester ignores (there's no light) it but I still don't record the reading because I don't trust it.

I don't think yours will trigger at a high heart rate or a high pressure, just an irregular beat. WHen you see the light, do the reading over after a couple minutes wait.
