Thanks - also, how do you lower your pulse rate if it is high?
The only way to lower it and CONTROL it that I know of is a Beta Blocker. Or at the worst, a pacemaker.
Actually heartrate has been known to go as low as 37 BPM. Our president has such a rate. But it can have its problems as well. Mine has always been around 60 BPM. n Atenolol can drop to 48, even 45. Then I can feel lousy.
You can never tell what a good pulse rate is, but most doctors will say 60-85 pulse/min. People who exercise regularly have even lower heart rates.
Anyways, I'm using a beta-blocker to lower it. It gets as high as 140 pulse/min (resting of course). So far, I've done CBC, Thyroid function analysis, chest X-ray, electrolytes analysis, ECG, all come back normal. But I'll do further tests, they are heart related tests, don't know what they are.
My heart suddenly climbs for no reason. I have to take this medication, or it will never come down.
Amazingly, this sudden increase happened twice, today and last Teusday (weekends over here). It happened after I woke up, and after I had my breakfast.
BEST way to get a good low rate is to train yourself. It's amazing how quickly a regular aerobic exercise regimen will drop your resing heart rate 10 or 20 BPM's.
Stumper,
I didn't think they were able to measure the president's heartbeat.
