Supplements have brought my bp down

Hi all,

I just wanted to update anyone who might be interested or who had answered any of my previous posts. I have been taking magnesium, calcium, cod liver oil, flaxseed oil, and a multi-vitamin for several weeks. So far my bp has been in the 124/74 to the 139/74 range. This is lower than when I was on bp meds and I feel great. I haven't experienced any side effects either. This is just so opposite of what I experienced before on the bp meds. I am a happy camper at this point

I'm very happy to know that you are doing good without the Meds but could you please tell me how much you take of those supplements? and when you take them during the day?

What BP medicine were you taking ? Did you make any other changes besides the supplements ?

That's great news, Liz.

I ran out of cod liver oil and I'm seeing slightly higher numbers. Maybe there is a connection?

I currently takethe following supplements :
500 mg of magesium
250 mg of calcium (Citracal Plus which has 80 mg of magnesium also), flaxseed 2400 mg.
1 soft gel tablet or 1 teaspoon cod liver oil
1 multi-vitamin ( One Source over 50, no iron)

These are taken every morining during my breakfast. I take an additional 2400 mg. flaxseed in the evening also. I have been on lisinopril, diovan, diovan hct, atenolol, cardizem, and some more which right now I can't think of. You may be able to find that list of previous bp meds in previous posts I have made to this board. These are the only changes I have made at this point except I try to drink half my body weight in water. When I do drink more water I seem to get lower numbers. I have also noticed that lack of sleep tends to give me higher numbers and certain foods. I hope this is helpful.
I found this info in Dr. Ted Broer's books.
