| Medicine on vacation
I went on a brief vacation with my wife. I forgot my bp medicines--tiazac and avapro (both 300). Here's what happened: First off, in the key way, I was much more responsive sexually the first (and only) day off that stuff. Things weren't terrible before, but... AND I dosed up about 530 one morning. About 6 pm the next day I went by a drug store just to check my bp to see if I could get by another day. The reading 180/112--I immediately asked to pharmacist to give me one of each which she graciously did without any evidence of a prescription. A half hour later I was back down to 140/86 and by and hour to 134/80. I found all this to be depressing and amazing: Missing one dose had a huge effect. The quck nosedive couldn't possibly have been related to the medicines' actual effects, which is much slower than that. So do yo think both high reading and the quick drop were anxiety based. Or do CCBs have a rebound effect? Or is my "natural" bp that sky high despite my weight loss and all that? I hate to think I'm that dependent on medicine...
