| Re: Bottom number is never under 130
kathy, you are young to have hbp, but my mom has been having severe bp readings also. A few months ago, her bp went up to 234/106 and no matter what med she took, her bp would only drop to 190/96.
What I discovered is that she was taking all her meds (thyroid, bp, cholesterol and supplements) together in the morning. That evening at sat down and did a drug tracker and discovered that some meds cannot be taken together (they will cancel each other out). So I made a schedule for my mom to take her pills. Thyroid pill at 5 am...clonidine with breakfast, wait four hours take verapamil (to avoid calcuim); Take supplements at lunch. Since that time, her bp had dropped from 234/106 to 130/80. She has not had another episode of high readings...
Why not do a drug search and a drug tracker of all your meds and supplements to be sure there isn't any problems. Good luck.
