| Re: Coffee?
Research results are mixed. Some studies have shown an increase in BP from coffee, whether it was caffeinated or not. Some show a difference between the two. Some show little effect for regular coffee drinkers but larger effects for only occasional coffee drinkers. Some individuals have very large increases in pressure. The best I can suggest is to use a home BP monitor and do your own testing on how it affects you. Test before and after coffee consumption a number of times and take an average to rule out just normal variations. From what I've read, it would seem that taking your pressure about one-half to one hour after consumption of coffee would give you a good idea. Increases may be just temporary. However, for someone who drinks several cups throughout the day, "temporary" each time could still add up to many hours of increased pressure.
