First of all, it's a good thing that you were treated effectively at the ER, that will help prevent further damage to your blood vessels and organs.
Secondly, you can now work on ways of reducing your blood pressure naturally, like learning relaxation techniques, exercise and diet modifications.
There are things that you can do that will affect your blood pressure in a positive way ie; lowering your salt and fat intake. Please make sure to purchase a digital blood pressure monitor so you can keep record of your blood pressure and pulse rate and always check your BP/
PR before taking your meds.
Lastly, work
with your MD on ways to lower your blood pressure and possibly tapering your BP med as your blood pressure responds favorably to the changes you're making. Do not stop or change the BP med dose on your own.
