| Thyroid issues
Make sure when you get your evaluation for HBP you need to have your Dr. check your thyroid gland for lumps & bumps plus do the appropriate blood tests naming TSH, Free T3, & T4. If you are over 40yrs the physical check should be every year whereas if you younger you can have it done every 3-4 yrs according to the ACS.
To much thyroid hormone will increase your b/p while too little thyroid hormone can increase or decrease your b/p.
My b/p rose dramatically when I developed thyroiditis & stayed that way until I finally found appropriate b/p meds.
My daughter who lives in another state, just had a lump & 1/2 of her thyroid removed. It was follicular thyroid cancer so now she has to have the rest of the gland removed plus other treatment. She was lucky because a friend of hers noticed the swelling in her neck & pointed it out.
