I am suppose to be charting my BP's twice a day. My BP's range from 150-160 over 90-110 while on 5 medications. It varies so much I wonder which BP's I am suppose to be writing down? They didnt tell me to chart a certain time of the day...just write down BP's twice a day or if I want once a day. So, which BP do you write down the highest? the lowest? an average of whatever I take throughout the day?

I know that you should take it the same time every day and maybe take a few readings throughout the day. Never take it after excercise, eating or drinking. You should wait at least 30 minutes after those activities. If you did not think you got an accurate reading then wait 5 minutes before taking it again..Lisa

I called Dr. office today and asked what they wanted from me on BP readings. Not sure who they stuck on the phone but the lady said for me to write down the lowest readings I have throughout the day. That doesnt sound right to me but whatever I will ask Doc next time I am there. I took my BP a few min's after coming in this evening and it was 162/120 with HR of 43. The Heart Rate cant be right...I believe the BP reading. Of course the meds slow the heart rate down (benicar 20mg, toprol-xl 50mg, norvasc 5mg, potassium 2 per day, hydrochlorothiazide 25mg) but 43 just cant be right.
