Nothing works - High & Low Blood Pressure Message Board

I have been on several different medications and my blood pressure is still high, I also have two blood clots in my right arm and being treated for depression as well. I am currently on Benicar and have been for about 2 weeks but my BP was 160/115 last week. Any suggestions??

There is a 40 mg tablet for Benicar assuming that you are on the standard 20 mg dosage. Of course there are dozens of add on's: Calcium Channel Blockers, ACE Inhibitors, Beta Blockers ....

If not on a diuretic, ask doctor why not. Diuretics should be the first choice of treatment and then add other meds as needed.

Sometimes it necessary to take meds in split doses, that is, night and morning. Some may need to take meds at night since BP is higher in the mornings. Ask your doctor when and how to take your meds.
