Beta blockers and allergies - High & Low Blood Pressure Message Board

Does anyone on here have allergies and also takes a beta blocker.
I was given Atenolol this past Friday......I also have allergies. I like the atenolol.....so far the side effects are mild and I like the calming effect.
I read that with allergies beta blockers are not the best. Just wondered if anyone on here takes the beta blocker and also has allergies.

Hi Dizzy- What kind of allergies do you have?
Beta blockers should normally not be given to someone with asthma or bronchospastic lung disease....But I have heard of exceptions to this rule with no adverse consequences.

I have pollen allergies......Doc said it was ok to continue with my allergy meds. Guess we got to keep both in check.
