Can anyone tell me the difference between Metoprolol succinate, Metoprolol tartrate, and Metoprolol? Are these all the same med. or do they work totally different? I seem to be getting mixed answers, some sites lead me to believe they are the same and others act like they are different? Thanks

To best of my knowledge succinate is the extended release (long lasting) and usually just taken once a day. Tartrate will work faster but not last as long. I take metoprolol succinate just once a day.
