high blood pressure??? - High & Low Blood Pressure Message Board

hello, i went to the doctors last week and my blood pressure was 144/86. he didnt mention anything to me but i am just curious is that high blood pressure? if so what can i do to lower it.i should mention i am a 20 year old male and only weigh 160 pounds and am 5'9". i rarely exercise however.

The numbers of your reading would probably put you in the pre-hypertension category. But that is just one reading. Our bp fluctuates throughout the day. If your doctor wasn't concerned, I would just have it rechecked in a few weeks.

if i had to guess as to why it was slightly high it was probably because i was a bit nervous. doctors always make me nervous.
