hiya ..I also take atenolol and from what i know from my G.P 100 mgs a day is the maximum dose for atenolol ...

What did your doctor prescribe? I would take the lowest dosage possible that controls your bp.

I was on 200 Mgs a day for awhile, I was ready to jump off a bridge. Now I am down to 50 Mgs a day, much better than I was.

Hi,

I was put on 50mg a day of Atenolol when first diagnosed a hypertensive. It was hell for me. Then got dosage reduced to 25mg when my BP came down a bit. That was a little better. Finally, I could'nt hack them anymore and was put on Micardis which was much less in the way of side-effects. I can't imagine what it's like on 200mg. Glad to hear your dosage was reduced.
