BP unstable

I know everyones BP raises if we run up the stairs or laugh or stressed. What concerns me about mine is that the bottom bumber jumps up to 95-98 when I am under stress or do any small activity. I am not overweight and taking 2 meds( really 3, one is a combo pill). So I dont get it, should I be conerned? in the morningit can be 98/75 but run up the stairs it jumps to 135/95. One night it jumped was 120/110. very strange! everytime I go see my doc, he says it looks like it is under control and ignores my questions.

Also my right arm usually has a lower reading than my left.

Re: BP unstable

I'm curious if you are purposefully taking your blood pressure *right* after running up the stairs to see if it's higher at that time? If so, my suggestion would be stop doing that Just pick two times of the day, relax & take your BP. That's what doctors measure - a resting heart rate. All the rest? just numbers.

Do you keep an average?

Re: BP unstable

You know - I think I'd keep a record of that for a few weeks. Just once a day, measure both arms. Then take it to my doctor and ask "why is it different in each arm"? However, I would try not to worry about it so much. (I'm terrible at taking my own advice, but it all seems so clear when talking to other people!)

The numbers are pretty though - even the 90 is "doable" considering it's often lower

Oh - another interesting experiement might bo to take it in the right arm FIRST then the left arm. That way, if you notice a trend that it's just the first reading that's higher, it may just be an anxiety thing
