| Re: Forgot to take hypertension medicines
It happens to all of us. Because we lead such busy lives, it is easy to unintentionally skip a dose of meds. When I forget to take my mine, I am reminded by my body. I get chest pain AND develop a headache. The headache is from my blood pressure rising, the chest pain from not taking the CCB and/or the beta blocker. Your headache might or might not have been related to your bp meds. When people discontinue beta blockers (especially large doses and within a very brief period of time), withdrawal symptoms develop. The major one is a headache. Mine lasted almost six weeks last year. What I am trying to say is that it is possible to get a headache by not taking this medication as scheduled. Your body needs it. Unfortunately, we often become very dependent on our meds.
When you miss a dose of your medications, you should take it as soon as you remember. If the next scheduled time for taking your meds is less than eight hours away, take your meds at the regularly scheduled time, without trying to make up for the missed dose. As Edelweiss suggests, you could use a pill organizer.
