So I'm sitting in my Dr's (Endo) office & he's asking me why b/p is always lower in the other Endo's office. Since he is my Favorite DR. I didn't have the heart to tell him that the nurse in that office knows how to take a b/p correctly & has a calm warm demeanor as opposed to his nurse & the other nurses in the other DR's office that I go too. Plus the office staff are also warm & accomodating-its like a ZEn experience at his office. Even the new lab tech is on board-she even washes her hands & is careful not to contaminate anything. What a concept!!! The Endo is from India & is already programmed so he naturally picks his staff accordingly.
My b/p is usually 120/70 which is excellent for an office visit not knowing what I'm going to be told regarding lab results etc. You don't have to be upset physically or mentally for your b/p to spike. You can just have an automate increase in b/p just like Pavov's dog in that famous experiment. The researcher taught the dog to saliva to the sound of a bell. Instead of slobbering all over the place at the sight of the b/p cuff in a particular DR's office some of us just release adrenalin & up our b/p goes. I get the Gold medal for that
Bottom line is that we must really double check our b/p in different situations to make sure we truly have HBP before going on meds. Fam
