Question low blood pressure, should I worry????

Hi, I have had problems with my blood pressure dropping low for about a year now it would get to 100/46, 100/50 went to my dr. he did blood work and said not to worry about it right now, I am still having problems with it, went to lung dr. last month becuase I have had pnumonia 2 times in a year they said it was low but didn't do anything told me to see my regular dr. What could cause low blood pressure? I have also had a low tsh it was 0.020 when I went to dr. about low blood pressure, but he didn't tell me tsh was low I found out when I went to get a copy of my records, could low tsh make blood pressure low?

Re: low blood pressure, should I worry????

TSH can miss things, but since it's low you likely do or have had a thyroid problem for a while. Please get more testing for this. And yes, thyroid problems can affect blood pressure.

I suggest you look through the thyroid section here and even ask there about your thyroid level.

Re: low blood pressure, should I worry????

I feel the same frustration. I used to be a 120/80 gal. Now my bp fluctuates up and down. The lowest it has been is 77/59. I ended up in the ER. Some people have normal BP in the 100's. If that top number gets down to 100. I have bed ridden symptoms. I have numerous blood panels and a complete heart check up with nothing showing up. A nice lady on this website suggested I go see a good endocrinologist and have all the tests redone. My problems have been going on about a year too. I'm 38. They got worse beginning in February 2008. Good luck to you. Please let me know if they find out anything with you.
