Hello,
My husband (who is 81), was recently diagnosed with a slow heart rate - between 45 - 55. However, he is NOT having any symptoms, such as feeling dizzy, faintness, fatigue, shortness of breath, and also no pain or anything else. He has been scheduled for a 24-hr halter test and also a nuclear stress test. My question is: If a person has NO symptoms and no probs with a slower heart rate, is it ALWAYS necessary to implant a pacemaker? He also has stage-3 kidney disease and type 2 diabetes (mildly).
Thanks so much
