Changing Blood Pressure Medicine

Hi everyone. I am new to these boards. My question is are there any side effects from stopping Lotrel 5/20 which I currently take. I going to ask my doctor to change it because I do not like taking two medicines in one capsule. I was just wondering has anybody stop taking Lotrel successful without any withdraw symstoms. Also when you switch blood pressure medicine do you just stop the medicine and start taking the new one.

Let me know

Re: Changing Blood Pressure Medicine

Greetings,

Is this your first med? If it is, it seems strange. Usually they start with an ACE and maybe add a diuretic if the ACE isn't enough. If this is your first med, I would ask for an ACE first. This drug has generic Norvasc, which, IMO is like going after a mouse with an elephant gun. What are you runmedicated numbers?

Regards, Brednen.
