I'm asking because my blood pressure went from nice normal numbers all my life to very high numbers literally overnight. Readings like 220 over 112!!!!
It started one evening with a bloody nose; which led me to go to the Dr the following morning (thinking he's going to do something about just the nose) to a life-threatening high blood pressure reading; which led me to the ER; which led me to a cardiology ward for 5 days.
So 3 weeks later; I have taken most salt out of my diet (wasn't big on it anyway); eat tons of fruit; walk as much as I can and I
still get readings (like tonight) of 170 over 90!!!! That's taking some bp meds the dr put me on.
I've 5'8 and weigh 160 lbs. I'm in my mid 50s. Heart tests (at the hospital) says heart's ok, cholosteral(sp) is ok.
The Heart doc cannot tell me WHY I (suddenly) have high blood pressure.

So what the heck???
So just wondering WHY do you have high blood pressure? What did your doctor tell you?
