Why are you asking? Does your b/p go up at the Dr's office? If so, have you checked it at home, work, and times of stress. One's b/p at the Dr's office can sometimes be similar to b/p at other times of stress. On the other hand, for some people office b/p's can be higher just in that environment.
If you have high b/p, it is very important to get it taken care of especially if you have a high risk job or are in a position that might endanger others if you have a stroke. For example, if you drive a bus.
Most b/p meds take time to work. The drugs used in the ER for severe hypertension work the fastest probably. You would need a prescription for them. Fam
