What is the norm BP these days?

Hi all,

I have had high BP for about 7 years now since i was 27yrs old. I take BP meds, well have up until recently. I have been taking anti-depressants which combined with my BP meds were making me tired all the time. So my doc took me of the BP meds and just monitored me for a while. I was getting readings around 140/85, which he said is fine.

My values are beginning to creep up and i am around 155/87 now.

When i was first diagnosed with HBP the norm was 120/80, is this still the case?

Many thanks
Paul

Re: What is the norm BP these days?

Hi Paul,

Yes, 120/80 is still the standard, although some doctors have suggested 115. It's ridiculous. I wonder how many more pharmecuticals can be succesfully pedaled with a continuing lowering of the bar?

Regards, Brenden.
