I have just started taking 20 mgs Lisinopril to manage my bp. It has average around 135/ 78 the last few weeks however when I have a few beers my bp drops as low as 102/ 47. Should this low level be of any concern? Is there any health hazardous to have your bp dip this low from average around 135/ 78? The low bp usually only last a couple of hours and then start climbing back up as the buzz wears off. Thanks in advance for any comments!

How do you feel when it goes so low? 90/50 is considered low b/p. I feel exhausted when mine goes that low. Are you able to think clearly? Don't think it would be a good idea to drive under those conditions. Fam

I feel absolutely the same. In fact I did not know my bp was going that low untill I started using my monitor. Thats another thing about my bp whether it is high or low I feel the same. No dizziness.

Hi MB,

I have this same phenomena. I find that 2 drinks of any variety, but especially wine, will lower my BP by about 10 points or more. So, it doesn't surprise me. I would say to monitor how much you can drink without it falling too far. Also, 20 mg. might be a bit much. Try cutting them an doing 15 mg. a day for a couple of weeks and see what your average readings are.
