Hi, the past two days my Omrom Machine's cuff inflated to the point of having so much air in it it flew off my arm. This happened twice. The reading went to over 220 which is unusual. When it was expanding the cuff's velcro opened up and came off my arm while being filled with air like a tube. Does this sound like the machine was not working properly or my pressure made it do this. I'm worried.

Sounds to me that the machine may be starting to malfunction I don't believe that your blood pressure had anything to do with it, I know my machine has never done this. How long have you had it? I have always heard that the Omron is a good machine.

its sounds like the cuffs not on correctly or your using the wrong sized cuff ..
had this happen to me at the doctors ... check at the chemist that your using the correct size cuff for your arm...

Thanks for your replies. I have been using this machine for years and all of a sudden this happened, at a time of stress, After the incident I used the macine again and it sort of normal. When the cuff began inflating I could hear the crinkle of the cuff like the velcro sound when you put it on. so that's why I am/was concerned.

Had it happen to me once - but it was with a cuff that was too small - the velcro gave way.

If you've had it for a few years the velcro could be wearing out as well.
