| Re: does bystolic increase your bun level/creatinine
If the dose is high enough most blood pressure meds.can effect blood test results. I also take Bystolic and several months ago my liver enzymes were slightly high. On a repeat blood test they were back to normal. If blood tests remain abnormal, it's probably best to try another beta blocker like Toprol or Atenolol. Keep in mind that the older beta blockers like Toprol cause more fatigue and other side effects. They also have a greater tendency to lower your HDL cholesterol and increase your glucose. If the blood tests improve stick with Bystolic because it's great for heart rate control, targets inflammation and improves the lining of the arteries. It is also an anti-oxidant to target free radicals. It works through many channels unlike most HBP medications on the market. It's known as a 3'rd generation beta blocker.
