I've been on lisinopril and diovan and didn't have that issue with either.

Blood pressure drugs don't cause hair to thin, your body does that with age, not enough nutrients, or genetics /disease.

Almost all medications can cause baldness (Alopecia), if you look at the side effects. Unfortunately some are more reactive to this side effect. It could be due to vitamin depletion. Many drugs deplete us of CoenzymeQ10, Vitamin B's and Zinc. Maybe adding vitamins could help.

Re: blood pressure medicine that does not cause hair thinning

My hair was thinning horribly. I am in my late 50's however. I take diovan which when researched quoted "after market side affect: alopecia". I called the company that makes it and they said less than 5% of patients complained of thinning hair after taking diovan. But I had read an article that recommended MSM for thinning hair. the article said it worked in 87% of older women. It worked for me. I was amazed. Not saying it will work for everyone but I waited five months before telling my girlfriend about it to make sure it was actually working. My hair is so much better. I don't think it regrew hair but it definitely seems as if the individual hairs are thicker.
