Will donating blood reduce my high blood pressure?
I just found out that my blood pressure is high for my age.
I am 28years - female.
Blood pressure is 124/89.
I was told that my Diastolic should be around 80 not 89.
Will donating blood reduce my blood pressure?
Would donating blood dramatically reduce my iron levels as well? Coz my iron levels are on the low side.
Thanks in advance.
Re: Will donating blood reduce my high blood pressure?
Unfortunatly no, it wont.
Taking more excersise (say brisk walking for half an hour every day), drinking less if you are a regular drinker, eating less salt and more potassium and magnesium can all help to bring down your BP
If your iron levals are on the low side, a supplement might be a good idea, they are dirt cheap and can realy improve your quality of life.

I have been battling with hbp since the age of 25 and was never allowed to donate blood. As soon as you enter the building they take your bp and if its high or low they decline you!
