Post Herbal Supplementation as Treatment for High Blood Pressure

Hi there

I favor a holistic approach to healing and want to avoid BP medications of the prescription type. I was diagnosed with moderate hypertension and started with Scutellaria (Natura product) for stress induced high BP. (I work in the deadline-driven exhibition industry that calls for many hours of overtime work).

I was then referred to Hawthorn (Solgar product) as a successful alternative when Scutellaria was out-of-stock. I take 2x daily. Another Health Store advised Cardiol H (Bafco Ayurvedic product) to be taken 1x a day, in addition to the Hawthorn.

On this herbal supplementation I am able to manage my BP to below the 140/90 mark, and importantly without any of the side effects of BP meds.

Has anyone else had similar result with herbal supplementation? I am also interested to know of any other herbal options?

Thanks

The only thought I have is perhaps garlic is worth a try. I have actually seen studies suggesting that it may lower BP.

Having said that, I eat 10+ grams per day and have found no impact at all (though Ive found no change in my BP with weight loss, salt intake).

I do the same thing, I use herbs namely hawthorn/linden/yarrow/cramp bark in a tea and in a tincture. Also you need to take magnesium (NOT oxide) twice a day. I walk daily and keep my weight normal and take Tai Chi for stress. anneh
