Question

I know this is a board for high blood pressure but what if your blood pressure is too low? My blood pressure is 100/55. My question is, what's wrong with me? And what can happen if your blood pressure gets to low? I don't know what's wrong, why it's like that. I've been experiencing some odd things with my health lately and don't know if they are related. Please help.

Re: Question

Basically if your BP gets too low you faint - very simple. 100/55 is not that low. Don't worry. Your problems are from something else!

There are meds to elevate BP if someone is repeatedly fainting from low BP, they have quite a few side effects.

Re: Question

Your bloodpressure is on the low side but better to have low than high. My bottom number is usually in the 40-50-60 range but do have systolic hypertension (top number. No matter what I do, meds or exercise the bottom number remains in that range. Therefore, cannot take more meds to bring down systolic without lowering diastolic too much.

If you have no problems fainting, light head, etc. don't worry. You may wish to ask you doctor about it next time to give you peace of mind.
