Though this is only a physical appearance and there are many more serious problems that people have developed. I have become so conscious of it that i have developed a serious case of depression. My ears will go hot firey red almost everyday...and usually during the afternoon. I have noticed that stress might play a part in it, but hot weather will trigger another burning rush.
During the cooler months and when i am in a
very relaxed atmosphere i dont usually develop this conditon...but that is not to often. As a kid i never had this problem..just the last 10 years, i had a million reasons why, the one i feel the strongest about would be blood pressure, but why would the heat trigger my ears to go red?
I can be driving in a air conditoned car, and if the suns strong enough..the burning sensation begins. It has made me withdrawl from everyone...
I can just sit outside in the afternoon, nice warm day, and if the sun's intense..the feeling starts,,i feel like a rush of blood fills my outer ear, and it can get so hot that i feel i can cook an egg on it. My father has dealt with high blood pressure, and suffers from a conditon which he must restrict his sugar intake..I have taken action to balance my diet...but no luck. Am i the only one who has such a problem..i dont see any others with this.
** Any information would be so valuable to me. This condition seems to have made life very difficult to handle sometimes !!!!
I thought it was just me! It happens to me every afternoon around 3-5pm. I tried accupuncture and that worked great. Unfortunately it was very expensive. When doing accupuncture the red ear thing stopped. Since I have stopped the accu the red ears are back <IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/frown.gif"> I was told to try to relax. I also take medication for hbp (10mg Zestril) Hope this helps. CHILLLLLLLLL! hehe
When i read your reply, thought i just
found my long lost cousin. Big relief
that it wasnt just me who has been cursed.
I will try accupunture...but what did u
ask for...anything specfic, did u mention
about your ears turning red to them.
Thanks again, any information about any
specific treatment you received would be
appreciated on the accupunture...
Thanks..and yes...i will just kick back and
practise my breathing...LOL.
This is the first I've heard of someone else having this problem!!....I KNOW that my problem is related to heat/AC, etc.
At work, if I am at my desk or in someone else's office, and the thermostat reads 74 or higher (the A/C is generally not on...room feels stuffy, etc) my right ear will begin feeling warm...followed by it turning red. If if is really warm, both ears will turn red. I've had to leave meetings where it was so stuffy in the room that I could feel my ears burning. My ears are large anyways, so when they turn red they even get larger. I sit with a fan blowing on me all day at work. The red ear makes me miserable and very self conscious..I've had to go sit in my car in the parking lot with the AC on high just to cool off and get rid of the red ear.
I am in excellent shape, bodybuilder for 20 years (I'm 41), do not do supplements, do NOT have high blood pressure (it's normal), but just need a room to be cool and have the air moving.
Anyone heard of medication that can help red ear? I'm seriously thinking of moving from Dallas to Seattle or somewhere where the weather is cool most of the year to avoid this.
I get a red ear all the time. Not sure why. Almost ALWAYS it only happens to the right ear. the left will be normal temp (cold feeling) and the other will be red hot. I am hypertensive. Is there a connection?
I get red hot ears too. Sometimes it is just one, or the other...occasionally both at the same time. I have been at my son's ballgame and it be 20 degrees, and the hot ear thing would occur. You can cup your hands around my ear (especially when I am in cold) and it feels like I have a little heater in my ear. People have laughed at me, but until I saw this post today, I had never heard of anyone else with this. I assume it is related to my blood pressure which is intermittently high, but I have several health problems, so who knows?
