Hello, I was wondering if anyone here has any experience with Verapamil, effectiveness, side effects, etc. My doctor recently changed my medication from HCTZ and Atenolol to Verapamil, because pressure just doesn't want to come down much on the Atenolol. I'm wondering if it will turn out to be more effective than the atenolol, and with fewer side effects, etc. Thanks much!
Yours Very Truly,
Yes, I've been on Verapamil for about 5 years, with absolutely no side effects. Of course, what works for one doesn't always work for someone else, but I've been on BP meds for over 25 years, and this is the best, both at controlling my BP and with the least side effects.

Thanks SamQ...I had been on atenolol and was concerned when the doctor changed it, but atenolol just wasn't working for me...glad to know you've done well on it...have heard that the calcium channel blockers are known for few side effects. Thanks!
