different readings with home bp machine
I was told that to get a good reading on my home digital monitor, I should sit quietly with my left arm resting on a table while the cuff takes the measurement. However, when my doctor takes my bp my arm is raised out towards him and the reading is always so much higher than when the arm is resting. Also when the nurses take it, they hardly ever ask you to rest the arm on a support.
This, combined with white coat nervousness makes my readings very elevated at the doctor's office. At home, resting it is normal. Anyone share this problem?
