This diet is supposedly good for lowering hbp. I was wondering if anyone has tried it, what the outcome was, etc. Any input would be appreciated. DASH-(Dietary Approach to Stop Hypertension). Thanks.
I didn't know that had a name. I've been battling high blood pressure since working for a defense contractor (which could give the dalai lama high blood pressure, let me tell you).
If anything, I had to avoid ALL forms of sodium - that includes certain vegetables like onion or hot peppers. That might be it, I'm not sure.
What is the dash diet? I take medication for my high blood pressure but I still have to watch what I eat. Maybe this would help. Tried the low sodium but even keeping it down to 2000 mgs a day is too hard. I don't buy packaged foods any more. I started making my meal from a cook book. Sodium is used for a preservative. That's why so many packaged foods are loaded with sodium.
