| Re: Very Low blood pressure
Well there isn't anything to worry about usually. The only time it would become a problem is if you suddenly started having fainting spells. It is a good thing to have low blood pressure. BUT When the blood pressure is too low there is inadequate blood flow to the heart, brain, and other vital organs. So feeling faint or actually fainting would indicate that it is too low and could be life threatening. So if you happen to faint--seek medical attention. If you don't faint, which you probably won't, then it's a pretty good deal for you.
I wanted to edit to add that since you know this information. You need to keep other doctors in your life informed of it. If you ever are in a position to get cut up and bleed alot(includes internally), like a car accident for example, make sure the attending physicians know you have low blood pressure. The main way trauma physicians assess your situation is by your blood pressure. If it's too low they assume you're going into shock and would take more extreme measure to try and save you. So them knowing you have low blood pressure to begin with is vital.
[This message has been edited by Carreen (edited 12-10-2001).]
