Re: Panic attacks and spikes in blood pressure

Hi. I am new to this forum. I suffer from High Blood Pressure and Anxiety. I currently take lopressor 50 mg twice a day.

For 5 years I took Micardis 40 mg and lopressor 50 mg twice a day. Last Oct that dose started dropping my bp to low all of a sudden.. was taken off micardis and lopressor was dropped to 25 mg twice a day and it controlled it for about 3 weeks.......then it started rising. The doctor upped the dose of lopressor again to 50mg twice a day.. It's better but it still spikes when I have anxiety attack. My question is.........sometimes I feel like my head is full of blood. My ears are real hot.........face flushing........rapid pulse......sudden weakness. Does anyone experience these symptoms?

I also experience these symptoms. Sometimes it doesn't feel like a panic attack and just comes on suddenly. I really don't know what to say about them, but I hope they are benign.

If this is a common occurance and it sounds like it is, see a doctor and get on something.
Please don't post such uneducated statements on the site. White Coat Syndrome IS documented medical fact. If you want others to be on powerful antihypertensive drugs just because they are nervous in a doctors office and otherwise normotensive you need your brain checked.
