beta blocker withdrawl and questions about amlopidine too
I have been on different beta blockers for about 4 years now with Betaxolol being my lastest one.
I'm getting of it because of the lethargy on it even at 1/4 of 10 mgs.
my new med for HBP is Amlopidine 5 mgs.
It does not seem to be a high enough dose for now or maybe because of withdrawing from the BB, my BP seems to be about 138/90 average.
.
I've only been on the Amlopidine for 4 days now and the Dr, said it should be working by end of week or I will need to go up to 7.5 mgs.

Does anyone have any experience with Amlopidine?
Does anyone have experience with beta blocker withdrawl and what can I expect?

It has been two days without any and I did wean off as much as I could but its hard with that tiny dose and that tiny pill....

So any advice please..

You can take the betaxolol every other day for a week or two or even every 2 days. You may start to feel the withdrawal...anxiety, increased heart rate, blood pressure, etc.

Good luck and I hoe you don't experience any ill effects. I don't like amlodipine myself, but we are all different.
