Question about Sudden increase in blood pressure.
I am new to this board and have a question for you all. I am a 51 year old male and have been managing high blood pressure with 150 mg of Avapro for the past 10 years. The end of December I fell, injured my neck, back and got a concussion. Since the fall I have had lightheadedness and my blood pressure has been ranging 140 to 160 / 80 to 100 not great but not the worse.
Last Monday I got extremely lightheaded, slurred speech and some numbness on the left side of my face. Ended up in the ER (my wife thought I was having a stroke) MRI and MRA was done of my head and neck and all clear. I have an echo bubble test on this next Monday to see if it could be heart related.
This has all been driving me (and my wife) crazy. The question is could my increased blood pressure be the cause of all the lightheadedness? If it is not heart related what other things should I ask to be check to determine this sudden increase in blood pressure?
Thanks in advance for your help
