I am on 10mg lisinopril and 12.5 of a Diuretic. My fingers have been swelling up so bad to the point I had to have my rings cut off. My doctor doesnt seem concerned, just gave me another Diuretic 12.5 to take it when I swell up again. Will that lower my BP a lot or make me fee weird? I never heard of anyone taking that much unless they have CHF.
If your diuretic is plain old vanilla HCTZ (hydrochlorothiazide) the usual adult dose for edema is 25 to 100 mg orally as a single or divided dose. So even with upping your usual dose, you'd still be taking a relatively low dose. It may or may not have an impact on your BP (i.e. lowering it too much) but just continue monitoring at home-You most likely will be absolutely fine.
